CIP Collaboration
FOCP coordinates activities
To ensure cooperation between all parties concerned, the Federal Council placed the Federal Office for Civil Protection (FOCP) in charge of coordinating all Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) activities at the federal level. Accordingly, the FOCP established a working group comprising 30 representatives from all seven federal government departments, the Federal Chancellery and the Cantons. The Swiss Programme on Critical Infrastructure is built upon existing structures, organizations and networks. The measures taken in each sub-sector are being implemented as far as possible within the existing political processes and by using existing tools. In doing so, the main responsibility remains at the relevant responsible Federal Authorities.
