The Swiss Broadcasting Corporation SRG SSR broadcast instructions to the population via radio. The ICARO system (Information Catastrophe Alarm Radio Organisation) used by the SRG ensures that any announcement by the authorities can be broadcast immediately whatever the situation and time of day. All programmes on air at that time are interruptet. All cantonal police headquarters are linket up to the ICARO system.
